Growing Up Girl

In 1974, Reader's Digest put out an animated version of The Little Mermaid. That I can determine, it only ran on telly once. I was absolutely mesmerised by it, and was certain I needed to be a mermaid. Not a merman, a mermaid. This was the first time Didi ever really tried to speak, and my parents were a bit confused by it, to say the least. I have always cherished the moment, and here I reclaim it, as the little mermaid herself watches with a 5 year old Didi. I still think this is the best version of The Little Mermaid ever done.
